Syria crisis: UN vote condemns Security Council
The UN General Assembly has approved a resolution condemning violence by the Syrian government and the Security Council's failure to stop it.
President of the UN General Assembly, Nassir Abdulaziz al-Nasser, made the announcement at the session in New York.
The move came after the resignation of UN envoy Kofi Annan and failure of his six-point peace plan.
