Syria crisis: UN vote condemns Security Council

The UN General Assembly has approved a resolution condemning violence by the Syrian government and the Security Council's failure to stop it.

President of the UN General Assembly, Nassir Abdulaziz al-Nasser, made the announcement at the session in New York.

The move came after the resignation of UN envoy Kofi Annan and failure of his six-point peace plan.
