Syria unrest: Second day of fierce Damascus clashes

Armoured personnel carriers have been deployed in areas of Damascus as fierce clashes rage for a second day, according to activists.

Witnesses say it appears to be the biggest military deployment in the Syrian capital in the 16-month uprising.

Meanwhile, Russia has said Western attempts to get Moscow to discuss UN-backed sanctions contained "elements of blackmail".
