Syria: Heavy fighting in Damascus

The United Nations envoy Kofi Annan is in Moscow for talks with the Russian foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, on the crisis in Syria

Mr Annan is expected to try again to persuade the Russians to put more pressure on Syria to end the violence.

But his visit comes as there are reports of heavy fighting reaching the Syrian capital, Damascus. Julie Peacock reports.
