Russia's Lavrov defends Syria involvement

Russia has rejected US accusations about Russian arms sales to the Syrian government, turning the criticism back on Washington.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow was not supplying Syria or any other country with arms that could be used against peaceful protesters.

Speaking during a visit to Tehran, he said the US was regularly supplying weapons to the region.
