Lebanon monitors closely events in Syria
As violence spreads in Syria, neighbouring Lebanon is watching events closely.
Hundreds of refugees and wounded civilians have fled across the border, and in recent days rival pro- and anti- Syrian factions have fought gun battles in Lebanese streets.
