Defying Syria's President Bashar al-Assad in Douma

Help

Violence between troops loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and defectors from the Free Syrian Army flared on Thursday, as Syrian rebels continued their campaign against the government.

The fighting centred on Douma, which was one of the first areas to join the uprising when it began last March.

With the help of local activists on Wednesday night, the BBC's Middle East Editor Jeremy Bowen visited the flashpoint.
