ABC's Barbara Walters on her President Assad interview
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has told US channel ABC News, that he did not order the military to kill or be brutal in its crackdown on anti-government protesters.
ABC's Barbara Walters told the BBC that the president seemed calm and collected when she interviewed him in Damascus.
She said there was a disconnect between what he said and what was going on in Syria.
