EU blocks release of a documentary about Afghan women in jail

Help

The European Union has blocked the release of a documentary on Afghan women in jail for what are called "moral crimes".

The EU say it decided to withdraw the film, which it commissioned, because of "very real concerns for the safety of the women portrayed".

But human rights workers say the film is important to lift the lid on Afghan judicial practices.

From Kabul, Orla Guerin reports.
