Hosni Mubarak has decided to step down as president of Egypt.
Vice-President Omar Suleiman made the announcement in a brief statement on state TV.
Protesters are jubilant and chanting "the people have brought down the regime."
One protester, Gigi Ibrahim spoke to the BBC and said "I'll tell my children we made this revolution possible"
