Egyptian actor Omar Sharif on the crisis in his homeland
Actor Omar Sharif says this is the first time he has ever heard people in his homeland of Egypt talk about democracy.
He told the BBC that he is "one hundred percent" behind the protesters who are gathering for a massive rally in Cairo.
Mr Sharif went on to say he is concerned about whether countries in the west will still support Egypt if President Mubarak agrees to step down.
