Repairs start on Rio's lightning-hit Christ the Redeemer statue

Repair work has begun on the Christ the Redeemer statue on top of Rio de Janeiro's Mount Corcovado.

Small sections of the famous monument's head and right hand were chipped off in a recent series of lightning strikes.
