Further clashes in Rio before Confederations Cup final

1 July 2013 Last updated at 07:47 BST

Protesters in Brazil have clashed with police during the Confederations Cup final between the host nation and Spain in Rio de Janeiro.

Riot police fired tear gas as demonstrators threw missiles near the Maracana football stadium.

The tournament has been a focus of weeks of unrest over corruption, poor public services and the high cost of hosting next year's World Cup.

Sarah Rainsford reports.
