Venezuela election: Chavez and Capriles in final rallies

Help

The two presidential candidates in Venezuela have wrapped up their election campaigns ready for Sunday's vote.

President Hugo Chavez's appearance was curtailed by a tropical downpour as thousands of his supporters brought central Caracas to a standstill.

The main opposition candidate, Henrique Capriles, wound up his campaign in the west, inviting voters to join him in what he called the big surprise, his hoped-for victory over Mr Chavez.

Sarah Grainger reports from Caracas.
