Thousands of turtles crushed by bulldozer in Trinidad

Help

Thousands of giant turtle eggs and hatchlings were crushed by a bulldozer on a stretch of the Grand Riviere beach in Trinidad during construction works.

The workers were redirecting a river but mistakenly removed a larger portion of the beach than was planned.

Deborah Basckin reports.
