Ecuador is to consider granting Julian Assange asylum
Ecuador is considering the possibility of granting Julian Assange asylum, says President Rafael Correa.
Mr Assange is at the country's embassy in London, where he is seeking asylum to prevent him being sent to Sweden to answer accusations of assault.
On Wednesday, Ecuador said it would consult the UK, Sweden and the US before deciding on Mr Assange's asylum request.
President Rafael Correa says they are looking seriously and responsibly at the request.
