A taste of London in Rio's carnival
One of Rio de Janeiro's elite samba schools, União da Ilha, dedicated this year's performance to London.
The link was brought about by the fact that both cities are hosting the next Olympic games - London in 2012 and Rio in 2016.
Dancing knights and a scantily-clad version of Buckingham Palace's guards were on display in Rio's sambadrome.
