Brazil hopes to turn Cuba's Mariel Port into a trading hub

Brazil wants to transform the Mariel Port in Cuba into one of the most important ports in Latin America.

In the 1980s it was the departure point for roughly 125,000 Cubans who left the island for the United States.

The Brazilian government hopes that it can now be revamped into a popular development hub for export-oriented industries.

BBC Brasil's Joao Fellet reports.
