Chavez welcomes Ahmadinejad in Venezuela
Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez mounted a typically fiery defence of his ally the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as the two leaders met in Caracas.
President Ahmadinejad was in Venezuela on the first leg of a four nation tour to shore up international support for Iran, as the recently-expanded economic sanctions take affect against the country's nuclear programme.
The BBC's Sarah Grainger spoke to BBC World from Caracas.
