Ecuador has declared an amber alert after the Tungurahua volcano started spewing ash. The authorities have told residents living near the volcano to leave their homes.

Tomas Ciuffardi, an Ecuador-based reporter told BBC Radio 5 live: "When we have these reactivations, instead of driving away from the volcano people usually go to see these explosions."
