President Pinera praises rescuers and miners


Chile's President Pinera has passionately praised miners and rescuers at the San Jose shaft, after the last trapped man was rescued.

He said Luis Urzua - the shift supervisor credited with helping his colleagues survive the first 17 days before rescue teams made contact - "made us proud".

The permanent faith shown by the families "moved mountains", he said.
