Jersey police officer charged over patrol car crash

A Jersey police officer who was injured when his patrol car crashed and overturned has been charged with driving without due care and attention.

PC James Andrew Jenkinson, 38, is due to appear at the island's magistrates' court on Thursday.

The crash happened on La Grande Route de la Cote, in St Clement, at 05:30 BST on 20 May.

PC Jenkinson was later taken to hospital before being released a day later.

He was not attending an emergency at the time and no other vehicles were involved.
