Channel Island flights delayed by dense fog

Dense fog has grounded flights across the Channel Islands causing delays to all inbound and outbound flights.

The first British Airways flight to Gatwick airport made an attempt to leave Jersey Airport, but had to abort and return to the stand due to low fog.

Several flights between the islands and Southampton Airport have also been cancelled with others delayed.

Airport officials are advising passengers to check in as normal, as the fog is expected to clear later.

Jersey Met Dept says the fog will remain in some coastal areas and spread inland overnight.
