The centre in St Ouen will allow nature lovers a chance to get closer to a wetlands habitat

A new wetlands centre in a nature reserve in Jersey is due to officially open on 2 February, the island's National Trust has said.

The centre in St Ouen will aim to offer nature lovers a chance to get closer to wildlife and teach them about the wetlands habitat, the trust said.

The area is home to green lizards, frogs and marsh harrier birds of prey.

The trust had to temporarily relocate lizards and other animals to allow its construction before returning them.
