Jersey crash cyclist flown to Southampton brain unit

A man injured in a collision with a car in Jersey has been flown to the brain injuries unit at Southampton hospital.

The island's police say the 45-year-old cyclist was seriously hurt in the crash at Beaumont Hill on Wednesday.

States of Jersey police closed the road which led to severe backlogs for traffic along Victoria Avenue towards St Aubin.

Officers say there appear to have been no other vehicles involved in the collision.
