Temporary kerbs will be installed in an attempt to slow down traffic in St Mary's village, in Jersey.

The transport department plans to narrow part of La Rue des Buttes so there will only be room for one vehicle to pass at a time.

The trial is due to begin at the end of February as part of a £1.5m project to make the island's roads safer.

A department spokesman has asked people using the area to contact it with comments or criticism of the changes.
