Jersey roads improved and altered in a £1.5m scheme

A number of roads in Jersey will be altered and improved as part of a three-year scheme costing £1.5m.

The Transport and Technical Services Department announced it would also be removing some signs and other road features as part of the move.

Tristan Dodd, Director of Transport, said it was hoped new road layouts and the removal of some road markings would slow traffic and improve safety.

He said the department had taken some inspiration from France for the move.

St Brelade, St Mary, St Lawrence and St John will be among the parishes affected by the initiative which will target "village centres".
