Belmont Road residents are evacuated over Simon Place fire

Firemen at Simon Place Residents in the area were evacuated while the fire was brought under control

Residents in part of Jersey were evacuated from their homes due to a large fire, the States of Jersey Police said.

Jersey Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the fire at Simon Place on Sunday morning.

It is believed the fire was in a former photography studio, but it is not yet known how it started.

Nearby Belmont Road was cordoned off, with no access to pedestrians or vehicles.
