Roadworks on Jersey's Beaumont Hill to last four months
Jersey's transport authorities are to start four months of maintenance work on one of the island's busiest roads.
The work on Beaumont Hill starts on 9 October and will take until February 2013 to complete.
Transport and Technical Services will be putting down high friction surfacing, installing new safety barriers and improving road drainage.
A spokesman said the works would cause delays to drivers and disturb householders in the area.
He said to minimise disruption, the work had been planned for the winter months and would not affect morning and evening rush hours on weekdays.
The spokesman said Beaumont Hill would be closed southbound and Mont Fallu hill would be closed westbound from 09:00 to 16:30 BST weekdays apart from Christmas week.
