The number of arrests at Jersey Live on Saturday and Sunday was down by more than two thirds on the 2011 event.

Jersey Police said eight people were arrested during the two-day music festival compared to 25 the year before.

Ch Insp John Sculthorpe said it was due to a zero tolerance approach to alcohol.

Festival co-director Warren Holt said he was "over the moon" with the way the festival went.

'Best festival'

He said: "The new youth ticket policy appears to have been understood and accepted and there's been minimal trouble with attendees.

Professor Green Professor Green performed on Saturday

"I really feel it's the best festival we've done so we'll have our work cut out to top it for our 10th anniversary in 2013."

Mr Sculthorpe said the incidents that did occur were all very minor and many were able to come back in the next day after being thrown out.

"Unless people were disorderly or grossly intoxicated or abusive or had committed offences, they were allowed back in on the Sunday.

"The ones that had been put out of the event on the Saturday and came back on the Sunday were very apologetic."

Jersey Live took place on Saturday and Sunday and saw acts like Noel Gallagher, Chase & Status and Professor Green perform.
