Rock band Two Days Too Soon won the first heat of the Junior Battle of the Bands on Tuesday.

The four piece beat three other acts for a place in the final at the end of August.

This is the first year the La Motte Street Youth Project event has been held at the Pier Cafe at Havre des Pas.

There were about 80 people in the audience to watch the four bands compete as well as opening band Bulletproof and final support act Tre.

The other bands competing were Squirrels Wear Ray-Bans, Simon and Ducktape.

The final of the Junior Battle of the Bands is on 28 August 2012.
