Man, 96, treated after Devon car arson attack

A 96-year-old man has been treated for the effects of breathing in smoke after a suspected arson attack on cars in south Devon.

Two cars caught fire in Bishop's Place in Paignton at about 0100 BST on Sunday.

A Ford Escort was found well alight by emergency crews. The fire spread to a Suzuki estate parked close by.

The man had to be treated by paramedics after smoke had entered his bedroom, police said.

Both vehicles were destroyed in the incident, which police said was being treated as suspicious.
