Recycling facility set up in car park in St Aubin

A number of recycling bins are being installed in a Jersey car park.

From Friday islanders can deposit paper and cans as well as plastic and glass bottles in the recycling banks behind the parish hall in St Aubin.

The facility will bring the number of mini recycling sites around the island to 15.

In a bid to reduce fly-tipping of glass, the Parish of St Brelade has also added a glass recycling bank to its facility at Les Creux Country Park.

Connétable Mike Jackson said: "Improving recycling facilities within the parish is essential if more people are to recycle.

"We will continue to investigate further ways to increase recycling within the parish."
