Creg Ny Baa back road (B12) Police said the B12 will remain closed for some time following the crash

A motorcyclist from the UK has died after the bike they were riding crashed on the Isle of Man, police have said.

The one-vehicle incident occurred on the Creg Ny Baa back road (B12) at about 13:00 BST on Thursday.

A police spokesman said: "Unfortunately the motorcyclist has died at the scene and the road is likely to be closed for some time."

Police have asked the public to refrain from using that route between the Creg Ny Baa and Laxey.

The Mountain Road Course remains open, police said.
