Six people have been taken to hospital after being in a crash involving two vehicles, the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service said.

Two people were cut from a small commercial van and flown to hospital by helicopter after the crash in Main Road, Foxdale, at about 11:00 BST.

A total of six casualties were treated at the scene and taken to Noble's Hospital for precautionary checks.

The victims' injuries were described as stable.

Due to the number of casualties two road ambulances were used, along with the emergency rescue helicopter.

Insp Derek Flint said the road would remain closed between the Hope and Mines Road for police to carry out investigations.

Officers are asking motorists to avoid the area to avoid congestion.
