Isle of Man motorcycle crash victim named by police

A motorcyclist who died when his bike was in a collision with a car on the Isle of Man, has been named as a 43-year-old firefighter.

Neil Walker, from Ramsey, was on a Kawasaki when the collision occurred on the Laxey to Ramsey coast road near Bulgham Rocks on Wednesday.

Chief Fire Officer Kevin Groom said: "I am devastated to lose Neil from this life in such tragic circumstances."

Mr Walker, a father-of-two, had served for more than 22 years.

Police said he was well known in the community for his work as a joiner and a retained firefighter.

Mr Brown said: "He was a truly professional firefighter who had served at Ramsey Fire Station for over 22 years.

"On behalf of all staff of the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue I send sincere condolences to his wife, children family and friends at this sad and difficult time. Rest in Peace Neil."
