A man charged with causing the death of a 62-year-old woman by dangerous driving in the Isle of Man has been remanded in custody until July.

Donovan Kitching, 30, of St John's, has been charged with five offences, including causing the death of Gwen Valentine by dangerous driving.

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes turned down an application for bail at Douglas courthouse on Tuesday.

He will next appear at the same court on 10 July.

Mrs Valentine, from Winchester, was visiting family when she was struck on the Tholt-y-Will Road on 26 April.

Mr Kitching is also facing charges of possession of drugs, driving while disqualified and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent.
