New Douglas Mayor takes up position

The Mayor of Douglas courtesy Andrew Barton Stanley Cain will be the Mayor of Douglas until May 2015

The new Mayor of Douglas has been officially appointed at a special ceremony in the town hall.

Stanley Cain will take over the role from Carol Malarkey after being voted into position by members of Douglas Council last March.

The businessman from Willaston will hold the position until 12 May 2015.

Previously a member of the Douglas Council Housing & Property Advisory Committee, Mr Cain said he wanted to boost the capital's leisure amenities.
