The cause of death of a teenage girl found dead following a car crash in the Isle of Man is "yet to be established", an inquest has heard.

Lucia Porter, 14, died in the crash on the Switchback near Peel shortly after 23:15 GMT on 8 March.

Coroner John Needham said she suffered "multiple injuries" but the cause of death was still to be ascertained.

Mr Needham opened and adjourned the inquest at Douglas courthouse and released her body to her family.

The Onchan student's body was found in a Ford Fiesta, which police said contained eight people.

Two local men aged 18 and 19 have been arrested over the crash and released on bail.

The court heard the investigation was ongoing.
