Isle of Man Police have launched a new campaign to crack down on drivers who use mobile phones at the wheel.

The project is a joint initiative between the Manx government and the island's road safety team.

Police said teams will be patrolling major roads to stop and question anyone seen holding a handset while driving.

A spokesman added: "Penalties on the Isle of Man include a fine of up to £2,500 and four penalty points on your licence."
