Isle of Man power cut delays benefit payments

Social security benefit cheques have been delayed after a power cut at government offices in the Isle of Man.

The power cut at the Department of Social Care on Tuesday means that payments due to be made on Wednesday will be a day late.

Those affected can collect cheques from Markwell House in Douglas on Wednesday any time before 15:00 GMT.

A spokesman said: "The department wishes to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."
