Slight rise in Isle of Man jobless figure

The Isle of Man has seen a 0.1% increase in the rate of unemployment, according to official Treasury figures.

At the end of December 2013 there were 1,159 people out of work, compared with 1,117 in November 2013.

The Isle of Man Treasury's monthly report shows the unemployment rate during December (2.6%) to be higher among men (807) than women (352).

According to the Isle of Man job centre, 317 jobs were advertised in November with 137 remaining unfilled.
