Isle of Man attorney general re-trial date set

The retrial of the Isle of Man's attorney general has been set after a jury was discharged last month following a three-week trial.

The jury of seven was discharged by Deemster Birkett, after failing to reach unanimous verdicts on two charges in the trial of Stephen Harding.

Mr Harding, 52, from Glen Vine, was accused of perjury and acts against public justice.

His two-week retrial is due to begin on 3 February at Douglas Court House.

Mr Harding, who was suspended as the Manx government's main legal adviser in 2012, is currently on bail-he denies all charges.
