Police in the Isle of Man have released a CCTV image of a man who used an "electric stun device" to raid a convenience store in Douglas.

The robber escaped with about £70 after demanding cash at Lower Newby's store on Glen Falcon Road, Douglas at around 21:40 GMT on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said the shop assistant had been left "shaken".

He said the man, who wore a light-coloured top and dark jogging bottoms, may have an "Eastern European accent".

He added that the robbery was a "rare incident on the island" and that officers wanted to speak to anyone who was in the Glen Falcon Road area, in particular a lady who had used the nearby ATM shortly before the incident.
