Isle of Man unemployment up by 2.4% in October

The Isle of Man saw a 0.1% increase in the rate of unemployment in October, according to official Treasury figures.

During the month, the number registered as unemployed rose by 42, bring the total of people out of work to 1,064.

The Isle of Man Treasury's monthly report shows the unemployment rate during October (2.4%) to be higher among men (728) than women (336).

Figures for June to August 2013 from the Office of National Statistics show UK unemployment stood at 7.7%.
