Isle of Man jobseekers affected by building work

Jobseekers who use Markwell House in Douglas to sign on will no longer need to do so in person until 6 January, the Department of Social Care has said.

The temporary move has been introduced while the department's head office is refurbished to "improve customer service and experience".

Those claiming jobseekers allowance will still have to prove they are actively seeking work.

People signing on at the Port Erin or Ramsey offices are not affected.

The department has written to all existing jobseekers to explain temporary signing-on arrangements.
