Isle of Man unemployment fell by 0.1% in August

The rate of unemployment in the Isle of Man has fallen slightly by 0.1%, according to government figures for August.

During the month the number of people out of work fell by 27, bringing the rate down to 2.3% from 2.4% in July.

The treasury figures show unemployment rates during August 2013 to be higher among men (704) than women (324).

The latest figures (April to June 2013) from the Office of National Statistics show UK unemployment stood at 7.8%.
