Two kayakers rescued by lifeboat off Douglas Breakwater

Two kayakers have been rescued after becoming stranded on the seaward side of Douglas Breakwater.

Douglas RNLI lifeboat was launched on Wednesday at 20:23 BST to aid the rescue by illuminating the area.

Coastguard officers had to negotiate around the sea defences to perform the rescue.

Neither of the kayakers were injured in the incident and were returned safely to Battery Pier in Douglas by 21:30 BST.
