The winners of an excellence in farming award, which recognises "efficient and innovative" practice on the Isle of Man, have been announced.

John and Alison Teare, from Bride, won the Tomorrow's Farmer Award 2013.

They were presented with a cheque for £100 and a glass trophy at Royal Manx Agricultural Show over the weekend.

Judging criteria for the award, now in its fourth year, include efficiency, profitability, customer focus and plans for diversification and conservation.

The scheme is organised by the Isle of Man government and a private sponsor.

Nominations for the awards were invited in February when each of the farms put forward were assessed by a member of the judging panel.
