A sporting excellence programme launched by Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes on the Isle of Man in 2012, is set to continue for another year.

More than 30 local athletes and 19 coaches were selected to take part in the professional-led training sessions.

The last meeting took place on Saturday - the last before the 2013 Island Games being held in Bermuda.

Organisers said talented youngsters will continue to benefit after private funding was secured for another year.

Dame Kelly said: "This past year has been a huge success - I believe there is a lot of talent on this island and this programme is just about giving people the opportunity to learn about different ways of doing things.

"Hopefully I can help people by sharing my experience. Success can be a rollercoaster ride."

The programme incorporates practical workshops alongside coaching on nutrition, technique and psychology.
