Isle of Man unemployment falls in April

The island's rate of unemployment has fallen 0.2%, according to official government figures for April.

During the month the number of people out of work fell by 100 bringing the rate down to 2.5% from 2.7% in March.

In March there were 1,208 island residents registered as unemployed which was the highest number since August 1996, when there were 1,211.

The latest figures (January-March 2013) from the Office of National Statistics show UK unemployment stood at 7.8%.
